Jeans for Genes Day13 Aug 2012, Posted by News in
On Friday August 3, TorchMedia and parent company Claude Group hosted a Fancy Pants Jeans for Genes day in the office.
Since its inception in 1958, CMRI (Children’s Medical Research Institute) has been a pioneer in the field of paediatric medical research. Its many achievements include increasing survival rates of premature babies, establishing Australia’s first research unit for newborns, developing lifesaving microsurgery techniques, and introducing vaccines that protect against a number of potentially fatal or disabling childhood diseases.
Medical research is the only way to discover cures for conditions affecting children such as cancer, epilepsy, and a range of genetic defects, many of which can also improve the lives of adults.
TorchMedia raised a total of $271 and all money raised goes to the Children’s Medical Research Institute (http://www.jeansforgenes.org.au/cmri). Additionally the company donated advertising space on the pharmacy network.
